There are a huge range of books and other resources available to parents or carers - it can be difficult to know which are useful! Here are some that we often recommend. 

ONLINE SUPPORTS (E THERAPY)

Online therapy is psychological support, information, therapy and other help that is provided online or on your mobile device. This can be useful to access as an interim support while awaiting access to psychological support. Please see a list of options below.

Offers a free online program for the prevention and treatment of anxiety in Australian children and young people aged 8–17 years, and their parents.

 Is designed for ages 15-25, and helps you identify and overcome problem emotions and show how to develop good coping skills for the future.

A self-help interactive program covering depression, generalised anxiety and worry, social anxiety, relationship breakdown, and loss and grief.

04/

Provides free resources and services to help people experiencing mental health difficulties, including anxiety, panic attacks and depression.

Mental Health Line

The Mental Health Line is a 24-hour telephone service operating seven days a week across NSW. All NSW Mental Health services require triage through Mental Health Line. 

Kid's Helpline

 Kids Helpline is Australia's only free, private and confidential 24/7 phone and online counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25.

Lifeline

 Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.

Parent Line

Parent Line is a telephone counselling, information and referral service for parents of children aged 0 to 18 years who live in NSW.
